MEASURE YOUR FEET

Place a sheet of paper on the floor against a wall. Stand on the paper with your heel touching the wall. Mark the tip of your longest toe with a pen, keeping the pen slightly angled (see image). Measure the distance from the edge of the paper at the wall to the mark. This is your foot length. Compare it to the centimetres column in the size chart to find your size. Measure both feet and use the longer measurement. We recommend measuring in the afternoon, as feet expand slightly throughout the day. If you fall between two sizes, choose the larger one.

EU sizes

Bontoni shoes are handmade and hand welted on Italian lasts with a close, elegant fit. Most customers take their usual EU size.

They feel snug when new and the leather gives with wear. If you are between sizes, try both in the shop.

Full size guide

The Dome from Bontoni is hand-welted in Italy, a construction method that requires the shoemaker to stitch the welt to the insole entirely by hand. This is the most labour-intensive form of shoe construction, producing a shoe with a flexibility, closeness of fit, and elegance of profile that factory welting cannot replicate.

The grain leather has a pebbled surface texture that ages well and handles weather and daily wear with far less fuss than a smooth calf finish. Scuffs blend into the pattern rather than standing out. The Vibram rubber sole provides grip and durability without adding unnecessary weight, and the Goodyear welted construction allows for resoling. Made in Italy.

Care: Brush off dirt with a stiff brush after each wear. Apply a wax-based polish in a matching shade to nourish and protect the grain. The grain surface is naturally more resistant to scuffs and moisture than smooth calf. Insert shoe trees after each wear.
