MEASURE YOUR FEET

Place a sheet of paper on the floor against a wall. Stand on the paper with your heel touching the wall. Mark the tip of your longest toe with a pen, keeping the pen slightly angled (see image). Measure the distance from the edge of the paper at the wall to the mark. This is your foot length. Compare it to the centimetres column in the size chart to find your size. Measure both feet and use the longer measurement. We recommend measuring in the afternoon, as feet expand slightly throughout the day. If you fall between two sizes, choose the larger one.

UK sizes, standard E fitting

John Lobb shoes are built on elegant lasts with a close fit. Many customers find they take half a size smaller than in other English makers, but this varies by last.

The City II is one of John Lobb's most enduring Oxfords. A straight cap toe with closed lacing and whole-cut quarters, it is the kind of shoe that requires nothing beyond the quality of its leather and the precision of its construction to justify itself. Handmade in Northampton across 190 steps.

The museum calf finish creates a hand-painted depth of colour, darker at the edges and lighter across the toe and vamp, that cannot be replicated by any factory process. Each pair is unique. The single leather sole keeps the profile slim and elegant, and the Goodyear welted construction means it can be resoled when the time comes. Handmade in Northampton, England.
